Brendan O'Donnell commits to UND

Brendan O'Donnell, another player who was visiting UND during last weekend's Gopher series, also has given a verbal commitment.

O'Donnell is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound forward for the Winnipeg Wild AAA midget team. I don't believe he will be in Grand Forks during the annual midget tournament in two weeks.

O'Donnell was a ninth-round pick in the Western Hockey League bantam draft, but has decided to go the college route. He is a junior at Vincent Massey Collegiate in Winnipeg (the same high school Jason Gregoire attended), so the earliest he could come would be 2010.

Recently, he was named the Manitoba AAA midget player of the month for December after scoring 11 goals and adding 11 assists in eight games.
