Swimming: Four Grand Forks swimmers honored

Central’s Ali Church and Red River’s Mirna Kojic made the first team. Church placed second in two events at the state meet Saturday in Mandan. Kojic placed fourth in two events.

Also Courtney Fisk (Red River) and Rachel Svendson (Central) made the second team.

Volleyball: Four Red River players honored

Jordyn Steffen, Emily Asche, Holly Asche and Megan Storstad were selected all were honored.

Red River’s Carolyn Olson is the region coach of the year. Storstad was one of three finalists for region senior athlete of the year.

Volleyball: West Fargo 3, GF Red River 2

West Fargo rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Grand Forks Red River 22-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 15-9 Saturday in the championship of the East Region tournament.
 

Red River is the number 2 seed.

Volleyball: Riders advance to title match

Megan Storstad had 15 kills and Emily Asche had 14 to lead Grand Forks Red River into the championship match of the East Region tournament.

Volleyball: Packers top Red River

Aryelle Jones had 17 kills and four ace serves to lead the Packers to a 26-24, 31-29, 25-23 volleyball victory against Grand Forks Red River.

Volleyball: GF Red River 3, Devils Lake 0

Grand Forks Red River’s Holly Asche recorded nine kills and Megan Storstad and Emily Asche each had seven kills en route to a 26-24, 26-24, 25-19 win over visiting Devils Lake on Thursday.

Football: Knights claim Cushman crown, neather team make playoffs.

The Knights used Grant Parks’ 195 rushing yards and a 48-yard touchdown catch by Ger Schmidt from Seth Zygarlicke late in the fourth quarter to beat Grand Forks Red River 26-20 at Cushman Field.

Central and Red River each finished the season 1-5 in the conference. Both teams tied Fargo Shanley for the fifth spot in the East Region; however, the Deacons hold the tiebreaker advantage and advance to the playoffs.
