1959: Bee Causes Car Smashup

A bee drove a 2 by 6 inch board through nearly the full length of the car, and the accident it caused left a 17 year old boy, Art Van Gelder, in "very serious" condition at a Rock Rapids hospital in 1959.
The bee got into the car and into the poor kid's clothing. As any other person with a bee in his clothes would, he lost control of the car. The car went off the bridge and landed on its top in a creek.
