Streaks on road to Sebeka

As we are watching winter approach ,AGIAN , and fall begins to get rolling along ...My favorite time of year , i love the colors of fall , the  sound's of raking leaves , the  smell of burning leaves , long relaxing walks in the nice cool dry air, not to hot ,not to cold just right... i like to take long relaxing drives , i don't know what it is ,but fall always excites me , maybe it's the thoughts that just around the corner is Halloween , then Thanksgiving , or maybe my birthday , maybe its the covered bridge festival , fall drive to Hawks ridge to shot raptors as they migrate through , or taking those awesome uncrowded water fall shots blending rushing water with bursts of color ,as the leaves frame the shots...

Naw i think i love fall most of all because of the sounds and sights of slapping pads on friday nights ...." high school football " yea thats it .... fall what a time of year ...worth the wait...

Don't get me wrong all the other things i mentioned and even things i didn't mention all make fall the best time of year ..where else can i have an excuse to get out of honey do's .... at least on friday nights ....and recoop on saturdays ow yeah ....

Anyhow if your like me and you enjoy the fall , i have to put a plug out there for another one of our local Silver streak supporters , Dave Erickson ....

Dave is a local man , farmer , member of the school board , big supporter of the Silver streaks and Osakis ...You may have seen him at Fleet Farm he works back in the livestock supplies area ... Anyhow Dave has a very interesting a big event coming up this October at his home place @ 11357 Hope Road Se , follow the signs off of hwy 27 just west of town ....

But anyhow if your family is looking for something interesting and fun for an afternoon to get out and enjoy the fall weather please swing on out there on Oct 10TH , he is having a huge giant pumpkin weigh off , and these are some of the largest punkins you in the area .... there are folks entering from all over to compete for the coveted $200.00 first place award and bragging rights .. Dave is offering some great cash prizes to the first 4 placers ...

He will have petting zoo for the kids , where they can interact with many various animals in the barn , and outside ...He also has a goat tower , and they are pretty funny to watch as you never know what antics they will perform as they play around the tower ... always a crowd pleaser ... they will have tractor  and  trolley rides as well so you can sit back and enjoy a quiet relaxing ride ... They have great play area's for the kids with an orange maze , swings , slides , corn maze (haven't lost a kid yet ,that i know of,  though a few excited adults did hide out for a while ) , and Pony rides that are always fun ... Dave and his family would like to welcome you all out to spend a few hours or stay the whole afternoon , ever wonder what is going on down on the farm swing on out enjoy the relaxing day on the farm ... Daves family has the whole place decked out for fall , and you don't want to miss the big i mean Gigantic Pumpkin weigh off at 2:00 Pm , kids you haven't seen a pumpkin till you seen one of these giants ... all i can think of is pumpkin pie ....ummmmm ....

anyhow i know many of you are saying i grew up on a farm or maybe you still farm , well yes but still come on out ,bring the family , because that was, or is work this is for fun !

anyhow come on out October 10th ,have some fun down on the farm ... you never know what surprises,fun and adventure  you may find ....

I love shooting pictures and once when asked why , as i do not get paid to do it i volunteer mostly  do i do it ?.... and i say well i love it ,first its a great hobby , but i really liked high school sports always was a big fan ,where else can you watch so much fun for so litle cost...action up close and in your face , and you support your community as well ... I also shoot wildlife ,etc ...but the main reason i do it is for the memories , life is too short way to short , and we waste so much time on our selves i think ... but after loosing many ,many friends over the years , way to early , it became clear to me that their lives though short really touched me (though they lived short lives and it bugged me that they left us way to soon , i soon relaized that even though they had brief moments here there lives touched many , and many loved them , and in that i saw the real power of God , the touch of god so to speak "LOVE " ) (many say how could god take them so soon ,this question bugged me , but then i realized even in an instant ,even if they had only momements or a few breaths of life here , even in that instant, they touch someone ,they impact someone , they are loved , and isn't that what creation is to touch people ,to be touched , and in our love our sorrow we are remembered that we are special and made by our creator and we can see and feel the power of god as we love ) its not easy to loose someone ....but thats when it hit me , we all need to live life a littel stop worrying so much about the bill's or how we will get this or that , and start living a little , with those that love us and we them , you don't know when god may need them back , and all we will have is memories ....

that is why i do it memories ! I catch them in pictures of an event a split second moment in time , for people to view and treasure and to remember , but you , you can come out live , and make your life a memory ....so come on out and create those memories .... in the end that is what will count not what we could have done but what we did do ....

i remember many times i regret looking back where i could have and should have spent more time with my wife or daughter rather than work that extra hour or two ..for things , when those things are already gone , but that lack of time i didnt share , didnt live with them i cant have back ..things i can buy again , but time , memories you cant they have to be made and happen but once .... so go make your's!

Now this friday some more memories will be made ....be there , be at Daves OCT, 10TH , DON'T MISS OUT .....come out support the kids !

NOW BACK TO SOME FOOTBALL :

Streaks to again face another test ,and piece of the peverbial puzzle ,the passing game ...

Last season saw these two match up in a rain soaked ,delayed game , slowed by lightening and rain ...Our Streaks came out on top will lightening strike twice !!

This fan thinks so ... The streak's well be well prepared ... they have the speed at key positions to get R done as they say down south ....

i look for the speacial teams to again come out and improve upon their few miscues last week and again dominate , giving the offense and defense some ground to work with ....

this punter has some leg , and will boot the Warriors deep in their end , will they be able to pass their way out ?

thats the big question ... i think the Streaks are so quick off the ball and have such great vision and dicipline that they will confound the Warrior offensive line all night ... and break into the lanes jamming their back field and getting some pressure on their QB , and with our tight covering quick backs i think that down field coverage will be like a blanket ,and could lead to a lot of batted balls and possible intersceptions ... making it a long night in Sebeka land ... how ever you have to give credit to a team that can bomb down field under those dim lights and make big plays like the Warriors , so their speedy recievers and good handed tigh end could break some big plays , they have the talent and quickness to do it , shoudl be a great match up ... however knowing Coach Kalpins roots ,come from defense and he likes to apply some pressure ,and is great at jamming the lanes up front as well... i look for maybe some corner blitzing from time to time , to disrupt the rythm and timing of this passing offense ,and possibily come up with some sacks or some forced throws ...leading to some intersceptions ...

It will be a fun defesnive game to watch for sure ,and will test our back's and the speed at which we can get to the QB ... big test for the Streaks ...

On offense i would expect much of the same , power running with Chris , and some leed blocking by Dom to break Lud to the outside where he can work his magic down field ... i Dominic does an awesome job and is key to this offense along with that stellar line and great ball handling by Devon , that kids hand offs are hard to follow ... This team will run and i look for them to score quite a bit ...i also look for them to hit a few quick shots to the end , Saddlemeyer and get him into the game a bit more , and maybe open a few down field ... Something i love and think this team would dominate with it do to their speed and discipline is the old "BONE " ,wishbone , and the option pass or screen from the QB , then you have multiple running options from your back field and get your QB also involved and with the Streaks rushing attack i ask myself if they ran a bone who would you key on if you were the defense ? i can dream right ... its not the sceam of Osakis to run the Bone , though it is very succseful and hard to key on , but it relies heavily on not turning the ball over ,and clock control to be successful , against a team that can make a few big D's and stop a play or two and one that can pass a few times it can be tough going ... though typically a wish bone or a double wing T type teams are very successful but do require specific and personal , and the streaks seem to have the personal this season for the wish bone ... But hey why mess with succsess right ... in a few weeks we will get an up close and personal look at a wishbone or at least a partial one, maybe when we play Browerville ....but one game at a time ..

I think for the streaks it will boil down to controling the clock , defense , defense , defense ...the corners will have to play big and tight ...make good tackles after the receptions , and the line will have to put on tons of pressure earlier the better, get them rattled , use our speed and penetrate ... special teams will again have to come up huge as the more field they can lay out before the Warrior offense the better , as with any passing team they can make up yardage in a hurry with big plays ...so special teams will again be called upon to give us great field position .... and come up big , and don't give up the big one...

Our offense will have to play their game be methodical control the clock and move the chains ...we will need to score when we get in the red , no turnovers , and watch the penalties and again have a great up front blocking , creating those lanes and let Dom open the way for Lud to break the corner ... and Dominic has to have al least 40 plus yards as well and i think Devon has to hit the mark and hit a few passes down field to open the box up more ...

some things i would love to see is more shots down field , or more use of Saddlemeyer get him more involved , take advantage of his height and quickness , and great hands... and maybe rush Wagner some more that kid is fast , very fast and strong ...last week he had a very impressive Rush , was that a taste of some future plays ..if so i am in line for the whole pie ....

and as usuall this will be a well coached team , focused and playing hard ... can't wait ... come out support the boys , its a nice fall drive up there if you can leave early the fall colors are starting to pop out more ... you may have to grab some food along the way  i dont remember there beingmuch up there , but beautiful scenery and an awesome old school field to play on and  one of funnest things you can do on friday "high school football " ...dont miss it .... should be an awesome game with lots of offense for sure ...and some hard hits ...
